Office Visits and Drop-off Appointments

Standard office visits are scheduled by appointment. You may schedule an appointment with TLC by calling 275-DOGS or with Uptown by calling 271-CATS. Please inform the receptionist immediately if you feel that your pet is experiencing an emergency. If your pet is new to our facility, please let us know. If there are previous medical records available, we will be more then happy to contact your pet's previous veterinarian for a complete record, with your permission.

To accommodate your busy schedule, we also offer a drop-off service. If a drop off appointment accommodates your schedule, we do ask that you allow 15 minutes at the time of drop off, so that we may get a complete history of the problem. We wish to be as thorough as possible and a complete history will be necessary. We will complete our examination and any diagnostics that you have authorized of your pet in a timely manner and schedule a pickup time later in the day. If we do find something that should be addressed during the examination period, you will be contacted, informed, and given further diagnostic options.

Annual Wellness Examinations

As with any medical ailment, prevention is key. Your pet's health is very much the same. We recommend your pet have a physical exam once every year, at the least. Senior and geriatric pets may require additional care by the doctor. A physical exam gives the doctor the chance to catch any potentially dangerous conditions, and educate you as the pet owner on these conditions. As your pet ages, recommendations may change. Starting at the age of 5 we recommend a mini blood screening, and after the age of 7 we recommend a more comprehensive screening. Please contact our staff for any questions that are specific to your pet, we would be glad to assist you!

Laboratory/Radiology

Our in-house laboratory is equipped with a blood chemistry and hematology analyzer that tests for anemia, white blood cell levels, internal organ function, diabetes, etc. We also have the capability to perform in-house urinalysis, cytology, fungal cultures, and fecal analysis. There may be times when the necessary tests cannot be performed in-house, and in these cases, the samples are submitted to the outside laboratory. Most results are returned to us the next day.

We also are equipped with radiologic (x-ray) capability. Diagnostic testing necessary to evaluate for specific disorders such as asthma, pneumonia, intestinal obstructions, and other internal abnormalities.

Anesthetic Procedures

We strongly recommend that all anesthetic and sedation procedures have bloodwork performed prior to the procedure.

Surgery

We are currently equipped to perform all types of soft tissue surgery (Spays/Neuters, tumor removals, exploratory surgery, etc.). We also can perform most orthopedic procedures. Please call our office if you have any questions.

Dental Care

Our dental cleaning procedure is performed under isoflurane anesthesia, one of the safest anesthetic gasses available. Your pet's entire mouth will be cleaned by a trained staff member using an ultrasonic scaler, polished and then evaluated by the Doctor for missing teeth, fractured teeth, abscesses, and any other abnormalities. If there are any problems identified, you will be contacted to discuss the problems and make the necessary decisions regarding treatment.

We are currently one of the few hospitals in town that has dental radiograph capability.

Hospitalization

For those patients that are hospitalized here at our facilities, we provide intravenous (IV) fluids, blood pressure monitoring, close technician supervision and as necessary, oxygen therapy.

If your pet is hospitalized, you are more then welcome to stop by to spend time with him/her!
